<back> summary

This map was created by The Wizard , an extremely respectable and amazing engineer-artist-tech-mastermind amidst a rapid flurry of activity in and outside a house in San Jose, California [link 1.]  This particular living space had been completely overtaken by electronics, rubbers and plastics (and the people who love them) in preparation for the 2006 Burning Man festival.  Written in blue pen are the directions from the the project's home / site of reckless experimentation, to the local Home Depot where I was to purchase much needed supplies of nails and carriage bolts (notes on top right corner, link 2.) which were necessary for the camp and for nailing tubes of 2000 rubber and plastic-encased LEDs into a ring which would rest on the surface of the dried-up lakebed otherwise known as the playa of Black Rock Desert.  For even more information about this facinating project, go here.

Additional Notes:
Underneath the directions in the bottom-right corner, is a diagram sketched in black pen which i believe after the fact to be an illustration of a previous project involving 2000 individually - cast LED pods in a ring, and its corresponding controls in a local, interactive pattern-buffer lounge.   I don't remember how or when it found its way onto the map, but both are diagrams sketched in a particular context (this project) amid torrential activity, spontaneous ideas and conversations, and both were created in order to explain directions (as opposed to simply telling a story) on the most readily available material (the back of a Texas Instruments precautionary page about electrostatic discharge).
