<back> summary

two maps going from and towards the same location,
drawn by seperate people a year apart from each other.

these fall into the category of "excuse me, can you tell me where the nearest record store is?"

map 1 was drawn by a guy working at southsounds dj shop, directing me to a store across the border called boom box.
map 2 was drawn by a different guy at southsounds, a year later after i admitted to never having made it out.

when i put these two side by side, i realize that although artistically they look very different, they both are extremely
clear and well laid out, both mapmakers took me straight to indianapolis boulevard and felt that the amoco station was a
good point to watch for, and both made sure i know not to pass the train tracks [the arrows in the upper right hand corner
of the second map are the tracks, the first time i've seen them drawn as arrows and not a picketed line]

so, three cheers for the service at southsounds.

i have not yet actually followed this map, but i plan on bringing my camera since i'll be passing by
the chicago skyway (the rust belt) on the way, a most gorgeous architectural feat if i say so myself. then i can
figure out if this store will have anything noteworthy at all. update coming soon . . .
