A modern-day
treasure map. A modern-day treasure map may contain one or more similarities to a classical one. Above is a map of our treasure, which is any abandoned slice of quality electronic music that may be carved in the grooves of a longtime immobile and buried piece of vinyl, tucked away amongst hordes of discarded one-hit-wonders and hair metal LPs. This abides by the above specifications of subjectivity, since for most people these are junk stores that leave your fingers caked with mold. Many thanks to the hotel we stayed at for unwittingly donating this page from the local Yellow Pages (i hope this doesnt set future guests in that room drastically behind in whatever they seek). Every circle indicates the general area of where our destination would be, but as in the classical variety, it could only take us so far, and location specific inklings were necessary to reveal themselves (such as Pink Floyd issuing from a dusty garage). We stopped by each of the circled sections, which ranged from the "main" store that everyone with a normal appetite for music would go to, all the way to some more haphazard dustbins, overflowing with an unorganised mess of that only someone fanatical would spend time sorting through. And well, I suppose anyone could guess of which variety we were. |
