spontaneous map created in a restaurant in order to retell the story of my confusion over a neighborhood i had once stayed.  [ See PortlandMap1 and PortlandMap2...] i made this 2 years after my experience in portland, and i *almost* explained this correctly, but not quite.  i remembered the name and spelling of the river (yay!); but the upper right corner with the house should be SE instead of NE.  just more evidence of the confusion i still retained from portland's improvised cartographers: some of them place North on the right; others on the left, but not on top like the rest of us!  one person blamed the river, hence this hearkens back to more ancient maps which follow nature as opposed to the Grid.
