Västerås is located about 100 km west of Stockholm, Sweden, and is one of the country's oldest Viking cities, dating back to the 1200's.   In addition to exploring the city centre, my friend and mapmaker Q took me on an interesting journey all the way from Sweden's past : Viking burial mounds at Anudshog - to its efficiently sleek and design-savvy present : IKEA (at my request --- a chance to visit an authentic IKEA in Sweden is not to be slept on)  

We went to so many places in the course of a day and a half that two maps were necessary to orient myself, and I'm thankful to Q for making all of it so clear at the end of the day....his maps are as efficient, functional and stylish as an IKEA designed living room.  This one features the general area of Västerås.
